Mechanism of action of each Active Ingredient:
Vijaya (Medical Cannabis, Cannabis Sativa Linn.) – Vijaya’s chemicals eventually bind to cannabinoid receptors in the brain. These receptors can alter the balance of mind and lead to
euphoric effects and decreased depressive symptoms (1). The antiemetic (anti-vomiting) effect has been confirmed to be mediated by CB1 receptors which are present in the dorsal vagal complex.
Δ9 -THC in Vijaya inhibits peristalsis, reduces intestinal and gastric secretions by activating CB1 helping in digestive disorders. Also balancesall doshas.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): A study conducted on mice used the aqueous suspensions of the powdered Ashwagandha root and exhibited anti-stress activity in mice. Other pharmacological studies have confirmed that Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a multipurpose herb and has neuro-protective, memory-enhancing, anti-inflammatory, adaptogenic, hematopoietic, anxiolytic properties and sleep-inducing.
Valerian (Tagara, Valeriana wallichii DC): The decrease in GABA level is the reason for stress. Valerian improves the level of GABA, by which it releases signals for sleep too. It also reduces the level of stress by maintaining the norepinephrine and serotonin levels in the brain which are directly related with anxiety and fear.
Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata)- It is a multiple purpose herb which reduces the risk of closing of blood vessels (restenosis) via increasing blood clot formation time using signal transduction. Also, Andrographolides enhance immune system functions such as production of white blood cells, release of interferon which are made in response to viruses.
Ginger (Shunti, Zingiber officinale Rosc.)- 6-Shogaol exhibits the most potent antioxidant properties in ginger. It inhibits the synthesis of some pro-inflammatory cytokines such as
TNF-α, IL-1, and IL-8 causing anti- inflammatory effects.
Grapeseed Oil (Draksha, Vitis vinifera Lnn.)- Grapeseed oil has high levels of vitamin E which is an antioxidant in nature, known to reduce damaged cells from free radicals preventing heart
disease. A study also indicated that it contributes by lowering platelet aggregation, leading to reduction of blood clotting.
